Where to Stay
From what I understand you can stay on the estate (two hotels) or in the village just off the estate (about a dozen hotels).
Hotels options on Biltmore Estate
Inn on Biltmore Estate

I think the Inn on Biltmore Estate is a pretty fancy hotel and is about 3 miles away from the start. There is a Race Group Rate of $169 for weekends and $149 for week days. Rooms are easily $350+ per night so that is a pretty good deal.
Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate

The Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate opened in Dec 2015 and is more relaxed, which I think is a nice way to say not as expensive and fancy. This hotel is about 500 yards from the start line. Given the choice between the two we are staying at this hotel. We are also traveling with two kids. The group rate is $149 for weekend and $109 for weekdays. I think the rooms here can also also be $250/night
Staying close to the start and plenty for the kids to do was a big factor in choosing to stay on the estate. If I were traveling by myself I would have opted for the lowest cost room.
Hotel options not on Biltmore Estate
There are at least a half dozen hotels close by. they rance fom $90/night to $150/night. They include the DoubleTree, Residence Inn, Sleep Inn and Country Inn and Suites. Most will have Biltmore Race Group rates if you ask.
For more details and updated Group Rates go to the Official Race Website Hotel Page

Thanks to Nicki Conroy
I would like to thank Nick Conroy at Nicki’s Nook
When I was learning more about the Asheville Marathon, I found a helpful post and then email ed the author with a few questions. Nicki replied and was super helpful with my questions about the race.
She has run the race several times before and is a Race Ambasador. For those not familiar a Race Ambassador is typically a blogger or social media personality that helps spread the good word about a race. In return I think they might get a free entry to the race. I think most people who are race ambassadors do it because they love the race and genuinely like to help other runners and work to ensure a successful event.
Thanks Nicki!
