Bike Shipping, Assembly and Maintenance

The Plan here is to ship it via bike flights, the bike will be shipped to the Cycles of Life Shop where they will unpack it, and make sure it is race ready.

Bike Flights: https://www.bikeflights.com/

Cycles of Life: http://www.colbikes.com/

Shipping: Last year for the Butte 100 I purchased a Evoc Pro Bike Bag.  I am planning on using this bag again for safe shipping.  On the plus side you do NOT need a box to enclose this bike bag.

Acclimatization

Getting used to Altitude is the real deal, so to give my self the best chances of success I will need a plan for acclimatizing.  Here is what I am thinking:

Tuesday: We land in Denver approx 5,280ft. The plan is to spend the day there and then spend the night at around 5,280ft.

Wednesday: Drive to Leadville. Wakeup at 5,280ft, drive to 10,151ft.  Maybe find a highpoint along the way to spend some time.  Sleep in Leadville at 10,151ft.

Thursday: Wake up in Leadville. Maybe take a day trip to the top of Columbine.  I think we can drive most of the way up and then hike to the top.  Spend a half hour or hour at 12,600ft.  then come back down to Leadville and sleep at 10,151ft.

Friday: Thinking this will be a rest day.  Spend the day in Leadville taking it easy and getting ready for the next day.

Saturday:  Race Day!  Time to get it done.
